Pot Odds

The price of a call compared with the equity required to continue.

MathBeginnerTraining Lab Definition

Example

If the pot is large and the bet is small, you need less equity to call than you would against a large bet.

Why It Matters

Pot odds keep calling decisions grounded in price instead of emotion. They are especially important for draws and bluff-catchers.
